Hits 4 Pay is a site that pays you for reading emails. You can select your areas of interest (sports, internet, religion, cooking, etc) and they'll send you emails to read from those categories.
Easy to use.... Easy money

Deals 'n' Cash is similar to Hits 4 You. They don't pay as much per email but, they supply you with more emails daily to read.  As above: Easy to use...Easy money!

"Readbud" is a site where you get paid to read and rate online articles. You get paid according to the number of words and they only send you articles from you interest choices, which you can change daily.

Home-Based Bussinesses: Do your research!

If you’re new to the idea of online businesses, the volume of opportunities can be overwhelming. They all claim to be simple and fast and every single one that pops up promises to make you massive amounts of money in a very short period of time. You could easily spend thousands of dollars testing out their claims only to find out that it wasn't at all what you expected.
Be cautious of those that claim you will be rich beyond your dreams if you buy into their plan. These are usually some type of “pyramid” scheme and the only way that you can make money is if you convince others to join. Do some research before you buy into anything. Some good places to start are the Better Business Bureau, The Federal Trade Commission, and Scam review websites. If there are any problems or questions surrounding that particular business or company, you'll have a “heads up” on it.
On the website itself, look for little details like disclaimer of earnings, guarantees, refund polices and trial offers. Also look for contact information. Print these out for future reference. If they have a trial offer you have a chance to see what your getting involved in before you spend a lot of money. Make sure to always read the Terms of Service completely before joining. This document should contain all the information regarding how to cancel your membership, how you get paid, where to go for support, etc.
A great majority of internet businesses deal with marketing and advertising. In order to make money, you need to get other people to take some kind of action (ie: become a member, order a product, take a survey, etc).  So if you are serious about starting your own online business, you may want to begin by learning all you can about advertising on the internet. There is a ton of information available on the internet about marketing and advertising.
The other major types of home-based businesses advertised are “type at home” and “rebate processing” jobs. Read all information available very carefully. Be sure to study the Terms of Service. Many of these types of offers require you to purchase a “start-up kit” of some kind. Some are legitimate. Others are not. Make sure you do the research before you sign up.
Remember:  “…if it sounds to good to be true; it probably is…”

Ten Tips for Home-Based Business Owners

Starting a home-based business is exciting! But its’ important to remember that IT IS A BUSINESS and there will always be something requiring your attention. Here’s some tips to keep you focused on your quest and help make your home-based business a success.
1. Work a set schedule. I know, one of the reasons you started a home-based business is to have more time to spend with family, or taking a nap, or playing golf, etc, etc… If the necessary work gets neglected, you’ll soon be looking for a new job!
2. Set up an office area. You can't run a business from a card table in the Family Room. A successful business requires a fully equipped home office. If you have an extra bedroom, convert it into office space. If you don’t, partition off some private area.
3. Professionalism. Yes, you can run your home business in your pajamas. You just can’t let your customers know that you just rolled out of the “sack”! Always maintain a professional approach when answering the phone, sending correspondence or dealing directly with customers.
4. Advertise. To be successful in any business, the people you’re trying to reach have to know that you are out there. You don’t need to spend a ton of money on it, but it has to be done!
5. Investigate the applicable tax laws. Take the time now to discuss your options with your accountant or with another qualified professional who can advise you about your taxes, tax law and your particular tax situation.
6. Check with your local planning / business commission. Make sure there are no ordinances, restrictions or zoning laws that will prevent you from running a business from your home.
7. Develop a Business Plan. Businesses of all sizes should develop and implement a business plan, not only as an evaluation tool but, also as a roadmap to success.
8. Exploit the Internet. The Internet is the single best way for a small business to reach out to prospective customers. Even if your business is “non-tech” in nature, you need a website that can function as an online brochure for your company.
9. Do some research. I know that you think your idea is unique. I’m sorry, but its’ probably not! That doesn’t mean that you can’t pursue it; it means that you need to do some research on the market-place and your competition. After you find out what they’re doing, you may need to alter your approach.
10. DO NOT GIVE UP! A great many home businesses fail simply because their owners got discouraged and “threw in the towel” too early. Grit and determination are two of the key traits common to all successful business people. “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game!“

ALL ABOARD the social media train !

As the Wave 2 results from The Faces of Social Media syndicated research are released, Internet Marketers struggle to define the value of the “social media machine” to their brands and products. These results, previewed June 13, 2011 at the Advertising Research Foundation’s Audience Measurement Symposium (6.0), indicate that the purchase decisions of more than 38 million Americans (ages 13 - 80) are influenced in various ways by some type of social media when considering 39 different consumer product categories.

The question begs; How do IMers make the most of this data? The answer is the “ripple effect”! When you throw a stone into water, it makes ripples that move outward from the center. Social Marketing works in a similar fashion; however, the trick is, knowing how big the rock should be and where exactly to throw it! A small rock won’t make enough ripples. A large rock will make plenty of ripples but, if thrown in the wrong place, the ripples won’t reach the desired area before dying out.

Marketers must consider the demographics before jumping into this arena. Of those individuals surveyed; 23.1 mil have discovered new brands or products through social media, 22.5 mil stated that they use some form of social media to research unfamiliar products, 17.8 mil claim that they are strongly influenced by opinions in social media and 15.1 mil stated that they refer to some type of social media prior to making purchase decisions. In addition, consumer integration of social media into mobile devices has increased nearly 40% since 2010.

So, for the Internet Marketer (standing at the edge of the water with stone in hand); How can I adapt to these trends in order to influence my business? By examining the “average person” behind the statistics. For example, social media has grown to the point of “universality”, meaning that it is no longer just an indicator but has become an actionable tool. Meaning that not only can trends be “observed” in social media, they can also be “initiated” there. Second, although it is a rapidly growing medium, its audience is predominantly passive. Meaning, the majority of those deeply immersed in social media are “followers” rather than “leaders.” And third, niche’ product intelligence will become absolutely vital. Today’s social mediums, in all their various forms, span too many brand / product categories for IMers to actively participate in all of them simultaneously. "Picking your spot" will become a highly valuable skill.

Remember, you can't fight the big waves. All you have to do is get pointed in the right direction and let the current do the work!
